Richard Wakefield CE Primary Academy received a Good Ofsted rating in January 2023. Some of the highlights from the report include:

Learning to read and learning to love reading is an integral part of school life. Reading is woven throughout the curriculum from early years to Year 6 through the topics they follow and is a vehicle for success in writing too. 

Leaders have ensured that the curriculum is well organised and ambitious for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

Pupils say that bullying is very rare in their school because they strive to be kind to each other. They talk with pride of the school's kindness crew and its mission to make sure that everyone has a friend. 

The warm, caring environment encourages pupils to do their very best.
